Images taken during a recent trip to Stillwater, MN.

Lily's Grill & Malt Shop -- Possible new business concept for Downtown Ripon.

Renovated building (furniture gallery) -- Excellent renovation example, trees to the right minimize the negative space between the building and the corner. A building was probably torn down on this corner and the trees/iron fence provide a sense of scale which encourages pedestrian traffic further along the block.

45 Degrees (outdoor gear and apparel type business/bike shop) -- Possible new business concept.

Condo project -- One of three new infill construction projects which have added several hundred upper-end housing units to Downtown Stillwater. The only way to establish a viable 24/7/365 retail center is through increasing the residential population of the district.

Isaac Staple's Sawmill -- Large adaptive reuse retail project on the north end of Downtown Stillwater.

Great example of a projecting sign.

Historic type flush-mounted sign with raised letters.

Flush-mounted coffee shop sign with raised letters.

Great example of a public parking sign -- Stillwater's only pay lot.

Public parking identification sign.

Classy example of signage -- The scale of the sign post is probably larger than it needs to be, but this is certainly better than anything that we have.

Excellent example of street signage -- Notice decorative post base and backing plate behind the stop sign. Adds a level of class to their streetscape.
